hi friends,
i’m back today with a post on vision/mood boards. it’s the start of a new month, so i just finished mine up and thought i’d share my view on them, in case anyone was kinda interested in them, but also kinda lost on what to actually do with them.
i wanted to touch on the background of vision boards and why we make them and how and why they work. the law of attraction is why vision boards work when used properly. i have scheduled a whole blog post on the law of attraction for the future, so stay tuned for that. but to sum it up, you can ATTRACT anything in this life with faith and a few steps, including some mindset work.
here are the steps i use to make mine:
- i sit down in a quiet place and meditate for 5 minutes on how i am deserving and ready to attract and receive my hearts desire.
- i stay in the same place and make a mental or notion list of the things i am going to attract this month.
- can be part of your yearly goals
- can be things that are solo for this month
- MUST BE SPECIFIC
- MUST BE PHRASED “I have, I am“
- after making my list, i open pinterest and search for visual representations of what i am going to attract this month, i add them to a designated pinterest board
- i then decide what medium i want to house my vision board. i am a digital > paper kind of person, so when i open canva i choose the instagram post dimensions and import my photos. if you are a paper > digital, i would choose the letter dimensions so you can print it out on your printer.
- next is the fun part, arrange your visual representations of what you are going to be attracting this month, add the month & year if you wish to the design as well. be as creative as you want to be.
now that you have this vision board, what do you do with it?
if you are a digital girlie like me:
- you can save it to your photos and airdrop it to your phone & ipad.
- i place my vision board on my phone & ipad screen as a widget using the app “Widgetsmith”
- i also place my vision board in my “agenda” on notion, because it is something i look at everyday!
if you are a paper girlie:
- print out a few copies
- place one next to your bed so you can see it first & last thing
- place it in your workspace whether that be your at home desk, your office, or cubicle.
- place it on your fridge because lets be real you are def going in there more than once a day (diet cokes are stored there, duh).
okay, now you have these vision boards everywhere, how do i use them practically.
well, at the beginning of the week when im planning i take a few minutes to look and reflect on my vision board & what i can do that week to make my vision board a reality (goal setting, planning, tasks, etc). then i add in these activities to my agenda.
at the end of the month, when i do my monthly reflection i take a look at my vision board, see what i have turned into reality, what needs to get carried over to next month & what needs to be removed because it no longer serves me.
✨PLEASE REMEMBER✨
be gentle w. yourself, you are not trying to accomplish everything on the board, some things on your board might be BIG GOALS, that take steps and time to achieve! the purpose of the board is to get clear on your vision and take the appropriate steps.
